This article aims to help you understand how much storage you might need, to inform your choice of which email plan to select.
How much storage am I entitled to?
- The amount of storage you have now depends on your email plan selection.
- We offer 2 GB (Saver plan), 15 GB (Regular plan) and 100 GB (Pro plan) options.
- Legacy and first-time renewal plans provide 15 GB of storage.
- When these temporary plans expire, you will need to choose (or be moved to) a new plan.
- If we advise you that we will set you up on a new plan, your new plan will be chosen according to your storage usage. If you're currently using 90% or more of a standard plan's storage quota, we'll allocate the next highest plan. If you want to change this allocation, reduce your storage usage, or cancel your future plan, you must do so before your payment is due.
How much storage do I use now?
How is storage calculated?
- Storage is based on the total data (e.g. emails, contacts, calendar events, and files) that you hold with us at any given time.
- Storage is not calculated on a rolling week/month/year, or on how much data you send/receive.
- Emails in your Trash and Spam folders are counted, so if you are reducing the amount of data we are storing for you, you may wish to delete the contents of your Trash and Spam folders.
How much storage do I need?
The amount of storage that you need depends on various factors.
For example, with regard to email storage:
- Do your emails contain a lot of large attachments, or are they mainly short text exchanges?

- 2 GB typically stores 26,400 average-sized emails;
- 15 GB typically stores 200,000 average-sized emails; and
- 100 GB typically stores 1.3 million average-sized emails.
How can I reduce how much storage I use?
